Public Relations
Scope and Contents
The Public Relations series is comprised of public communications by Congressman Kahele and his office. This includes Congressional floor speeches; addresses to local organizations or to commemorate holidays, legislation, or people; press releases about Kahele's legislative work or events of note; and monthly newsletters aggregating multiple announcements along with photos or video links.
All Public Relations materials are arranged at the item level in chronological order, with each individual speech, newsletter, or press release saved as an individual digital file.

Conditions Governing Access
Collection is closed until 10 years after the donor leaves public service, except for speeches, press releases, and newsletters, which have been made publicly accessible with permission of the donor.
Processing Information
Speeches were normalized to PDF/A from their original formats (mostly Microsoft Word documents). Some of the speech files were merged if they were multiple drafts of the same speech, or if the speech text and the corresponding slide deck were originally separate files.
Press releases and newsletters were individually captured from an archived version of Kahele’s website using the program Monolith. All hyperlinks on the archived website pages have been disabled.
