This archive contains the research files of Clarice B. Taylor, reporter for the Honolulu Star-Bulletin. From 1949-1962, Taylor wrote columns titled, “Tales about Hawaii” and “Moon Calendar”, which detailed the moon phases, history, stories, and cultures of Hawaiʻi. Abstract Claude Takekawa (1920-2010) was a member of the Varsity Victory Volunteers (VVV), a Japanese American volunteer labor unit that was assigned to the 34th Army Engineers at Schofield Barracks to assist in military construction projects from 1942-1943.
