The Maxwell S. Doty papers were donated to the University Archives by his wife, Mrs. Meng Sung Doty, in 1995. Through the generosity of the Science and Technology Department in Hamilton Library, the Archives benefited from the service of Ms. Patricia Brandes, who arranged of the papers and prepared the inventory under the direction of the University Archivist.

Dr. Leonard D. Tuthill was a professor in the Department of Zoology and Entomology for the University of Hawaii from 1947. He was an active academic who was in 1967 named the first Provost of Leeward Community College in Honolulu.
