Kintaro Hamashige Papers Kintaro Hamashige, raised in Laie-Kahuku, Oahu, served as an Military Intelligence Service Soldier, enlisting in the Army in 1944. He served in the Philippines, and was sent to Yokohama a week after MacArthur signed the cessation of war documents.
