Bryan carried on correspondence with scientists and museum directors in many parts of the world, with an emphasis on scientific investigation in Hawaii and the Pacific. Among his correspondents were C.E. Akeley, William Beebe, WIlliam T. Brigham, George Wharton James, David Star Jordan, and Frederick Starr. There are also letters from family and friends in Iowa and California.
