Abstract
Spark Matsunaga (1916-1990) was a member of Congress from Hawaii, serving in the U.S. House of Representatives (1963-1976) and the U.S. Senate (1977-1990). He started his political career as an assistant public prosecutor in Honolulu (1952-1954), was a Representative in the Territory of Hawaii Legislature (1954-1959), worked tirelessly for Hawaii statehood, and was also a lawyer in private practice.
