Public Relations, 1959 - 1977
Scope and Contents
Public Relations contains speeches, statements, radio/television scripts, and press releases, as well as newspaper clippings, maintained by the office on Fong, other members of the Hawaii congressional delegation, and local Hawaii politicians.
The Public Relations series was reprocessed in 2025. (The Clippings subseries was not changed.) The "Speeches, Statements, and Press Releases" subseries was rearranged into Speeches and Statements, Press Releases, Newsletters, and Correspondence. These subseries are described and documented in the finding aid at the folder level and are arranged in chronological order, an arrangement used by Fong’s office staff. Duplicates (over 2-3 copies) were discarded.

Conditions Governing Access
Material with personal information may be redacted by the Archives staff. Some fragile items may need to be handled by the staff only. Use of audiovisual material may require the production of listening or viewing copies. Records in the Case Files series as well as the Family and Household subseries within the Personal series are restricted except by permission of the Congressional Papers Archivist.
This collection may be accessed in the John Troup Moir Jr. and Gertrude M.F. Moir Archives Reading Room on the fifth floor of the Hamilton Library addition.
