Bell was a member of the Hawaii War Records Committee, but her specific role pertaining to the HWRD is not documented in the administrative files. She was already an established presence at the university when the depository was created, having been hired in 1923, and mentions of “Miss Bell” in the files of Adele Culver suggest that she was somehow involved in the work of the HWRD during the 1940s.
