a) Awards, etc.: “Citations earned during World War II: Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, Commendation Medal, Infantry Badge, Croix de Guerre.” • Four cases, 11 x 18 cm., one 11 x 13 cm. Containing World War II medals awarded to Goodfriend. • Empty envelope labeled ‘Croix de Guerre missing’.

b) Folder: The following awards and documents: • Croix de Guerre, 27 June 1945. • The Army Commendation Medal to Lieutenant Colonel Arthur Goodfriend for meritorious service, China Theater, November 29, 1963. • The Bronze Star to Lieutenant Colonel (then Major) for meritorious achievement in ground operations against the enemy. European Theater of Operations. 15 August, 1944- 15 November, 1944. 29 November 1963. • Legion of Merit [attribution similar to that above] • Letter of appreciation and thanks for service. Signed Harry Truman. • Appointment as 2nd Lieutenant, Quartermaster Corps. 29th day of May, 1936. • Appointment as Lieutenant Colonel, Adjutant Generals Department. 17th day of April, 1947. • Certificate of Retirement from the Armed Forces of the United States of America. 1st day of July, 1967
