Feels comfortable writing anything to Blake. Working on nude paintings again, using his charcoal drawings for models. Describes model for “Blond Amazon,” including biographical info, and the painting itself. Mentions stopping work on “Sleeping Nude” because of dissatisfaction with it. Talks about how he will afford getting to and living in Paris. Is glad of letters of introduction provided by Dorothy (Blake’s wife). Says Elsie Wilcox is his only friend in Lihue; she urges him to go to Japan instead of Paris. Quotes a poem by “that Russian poetess in N.Y.” that deals with the subject of rain.
