[Paris] Two of Doi’s watercolors are in a Rheinhardt Gallery (N.Y.C.) exhibition of works by leading American artists under 35. His works were submitted by the Downtown Gallery that handles his work. Downtown Gallery may be planning an exhibit of his prints and watercolors. The Downtown Gallery received half a dozen orders for “The Bannister” but had no copies to sell. Doi is doing more outdoor sketching now the weather is nicer. Says his father’s store is in bad condition, it may close, and father may look for another job. Talks about his art being ignored on Kauai. Doi’s idolization of Van Gogh doesn’t agree with Miss Lucy Knox; describes his reasons and discusses other artists.
