Scope and Contents

Contains three reports pertaining to notes on the history of Lualualei, Waiʻanae, Oʻahu, as well as Honouliuli. The reports discuss environment and resources of the area, place names, their meanings, and traditions, history of land tenure, private ownership of land, the Great Māhele and Crown lands at Waiʻanae, the Kuleana Act of 1850, tax records, commercial and agricultural activities, military presence and outleasing by the Navy, kuleana and Homestead lands in Lualualei, springs in the area, famous places of Honouliuli, ranching and sugar plantations, and sisal at Honouliuli. Includes a chapter on agriculture and ranching on crown lands at Lualualei, supplemental materials on water resources, a copy of a contract and communications between the Navy and Bishop Museum, as well as a referral slip, maps, figures, illustrations, and copied photos.
