Biographical / Historical

"In 1978, a small group of Mānoa residents first met to begin researching the history of Mānoa. They sifted through various archives, family records, attic boxes and libraries in search of documents, maps, photographs and old newspaper clippings that would help tell the story of Mānoa. Long time residents were interviewed; 'living treasures' were encouraged to commit their memories to paper. The process was long and tedious, but rewarding." The material they gathered was edited to become the final book, published under the sponsorship of Mālama o Mānoa in October 1994.
