Scope and Contents
This collection consists of typescripts and drafts of the plays of Aldyth Morris, correspondence, newspaper and magazine clippings, drawings, scrapbooks, photographs, brochures, programs of performances of the plays, drawings and published books. Significant in the collection is the version of her play Damien, lengthened and revised for London and other European productions.

Biographical / Historical
Aldyth Morris was born August 14, 1901, and died in Pasadena, California on April 24,1997. She lived in Honolulu for sixty years and was the managing editor of the University of Hawaiʻi Press between 1950 and 1965, editor of the East-West Center Press from 1965 to 1967, and has also written children's stories. Her most critically-acclaimed plays include: Damien (1980), Liliʻuokalani (1993), and Captain Cook (1995).
