Scope and Contents

This collection consists of pamphlets and of clippings from various periodicals and newspapers, chiefly the Honolulu Advertiser and the Honolulu Star-Bulletin, that pertain to communism in Hawaiʻi and date from 1944 to 1963. They were compiled by the Hawaiian Sugar Planters' Association.

The pamphlets and clippings in this collection were originally mounted in nine scrapbooks. The scrapbooks were dismantled, the majority of their covers were discarded, and the materials were arranged in archival folders and boxes.
