Scope and Contents The Pan Pacific Union records are not complete. Large portions, particularly those pertaining to the 1910-30 period and to the organization’s conferences, are missing. Local newspapers and the PPU’s own publications appear to be the only remaining sources of original information. The collection consists of photographs presumably collected by Paul O. Beam as part of his work as a war correspondent sent to Hawai'i by the Associated Press. Most photographs include captions. The images depict both military and civilian subjects, and were thaken in Hawai'i, the continental U.S., and overseas.

Overview

This collection documents the Philippine Revolution (1896-1898) and the Philippine American War (1899-1902). Noted documents were authored by the first president of the Philippines Emilio Aguinaldo as well as Lieutenant Colonel Joaquin Natividad Alejandrino, who fought under General Manuel Tinio in the Greater Ilocos region. These documents offer a glimpse of civilian and military life in the Greater Ilocos region during the turn of the century.

Pitcairn Island rape cases 2006 appeal records

Scope and Contents

This collection represents the record presented in the 2006 appeal of the Pitcairn Island rape cases to the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council. The record is 4,000 pages long. It includes orders of the court, pleadings filed by the lawyers, notes of the testimony given by witnesses, police reports, and an extensive file of historical evidence from archives in Britain, New Zealand, and Australia that date from approximately 1823 to 2006.
