Scope and Contents The personal papers of Juliette May Fraser (1887-1983) came to the University of Hawaii library from her former residences. The collection contains biographical material, much of it from newspaper clippings, relating to Juliette May Fraser and her frequent collaborator, David Asherman, in addition to original outgoing and incoming personal correspondence and diaries. Ben Norris Papers

This Collection includes the faculty papers of Ben Norris who was a professor and chair of the Art Department; papers were originally acquired by the Library in 1976. Additions cover his work as a prominent Hawaii artist. Studio lists, art exhibitions, clippings, correspondence, journals, diaries, scrapbooks, writings , photographs of his art, and catalogs are included.

Overview The Oriental Art Society of Hawaii was founded on October 7, 1974 "To increase our knowledge of Oriental art." Founding members agreed to focus on the art of China, Japan and Korea, with occasional activities concerning India, Indonesia and the Philippines. Membership included an eclectic mix of collectors, scholars, museum professionals, dealers and interested amateurs. (See the file "The History" in the Records.) The Society changed its name to Society of Asian Art of Hawaii in 1999....

Spencer Leineweber Collection

This is a large collection of material from preservation architect Spencer Leineweber's private practice in both new designs and historic preservation of existing buildings. It includes field notebooks, project files, and drawings. The folders follow a pattern: correspondence-in, correspondence-out, change orders, drawings, site plans, photographs, invoices/payments, vendor information, etc. The large drawings are mostly rolled separated from the materials in file folders.
