Scope and Contents
The Pacific Ephemera Collection (previously known as the Pacific vertical file), consists of ephemera covering all topics from and about the Pacific Islands regions of Melanesia, Micronesia, and Polynesia. Formats includes brochures, pamphlets, flyers, stickers, and newspaper clippings. Posters, maps and other large format items are also included, but are housed separately.

The Pan Pacific Union records are not complete. Large portions, particularly those pertaining to the 1910-30 period and to the organization’s conferences, are missing. Local newspapers and the PPU’s own publications appear to be the only remaining sources of original information.

The collection consists of photographs presumably collected by Beam as part of his work as a war correspondent sent to Hawai'i by the Associated Press. Most photographs include captions. The images depict both military and civilian subjects, in Hawai'i, on the Mainland, and overseas.

Paul W. Gracie is a Honolulu-based activist who advocates for religious tolerance and LGBTQ+ rights. Gracie's collection consists of two t-shirts, one book, one resource packet, and various clippings. Materials pertain to HIV/AIDS, gay clergy, Tulsi Gabbard, appropriation of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday by the religious right, and same sex marriage, especially in Hawaiʻi.

Overview
This collection documents the Philippine Revolution (1896-1898) and the Philippine American War (1899-1902). Noted documents were authored by the first president of the Philippines Emilio Aguinaldo as well as Lieutenant Colonel Joaquin Natividad Alejandrino, who fought under General Manuel Tinio in the Greater Ilocos region. These documents offer a glimpse of civilian and military life in the Greater Ilocos region during the turn of the century.
