The Senator Hiram L. Fong Papers were received by the University of Hawaii Library in August 1998. Approximately 660 record center boxes were delivered to the repository at that time. Photographs and audiovisual materials had been separated out and subsequently rehoused by preservation department library staff. Whitey Yamamoto was actively engaged in attending events and collecting materials on the Japanese American war experience between 1980 and 2006. Gregg M. Sinclair Papers
Gregg M. Sinclair Papers were received by the UH Library over a number of years. The collection reflects his significant roles at the University starting with his employment in 1928 as a member of the English faculty. From 1935-1940 he threw his energy into developing the Oriental Institute, and in 1941 he was made President of the University. He remained in this positon for the next fifteen years retiring in 1956.

The Oriental Art Society of Hawaii was founded on October 7, 1974 "To increase our knowledge of Oriental art." This is a large collection of material from preservation architect Spencer Leineweber's private practice in both new designs and historic preservation of existing buildings. It includes field notebooks, project files, and drawings. The folders follow a pattern: correspondence-in, correspondence-out, change orders, drawings, site plans, photographs, invoices/payments, vendor information, etc. The large drawings are mostly rolled separated from the materials in file folders.
