State Foundation on Culture and the Arts (Hawaii) grant project records
These records consist of information on more than 400 cultural, historical, and arts organizations, and their activities 1965-1990. Also includes information about individual artists in Hawaiʻi. The records for each organization typically, but not always, include history of the organization, its incorporation papers, project proposals, award letters, progress reports, final reports, evaluations, final result/outcome, publicity and news reports. Some files include photographs.
Stephen W. Reynolds journals
Consists of the photocopies of typed, edited transcripts of Stephen Reynolds' journals, covering November 1823 to August 1855. These journals are the primary source providing the merchant point of view of Honolulu from 1823 to 1850. A brief list of volumes and dates is also included with the collection.
Steve Thomas traditional Micronesian navigation collection
The Steve Thomas traditional Micronesian navigation collection dates from 1983 to 1989 and consists of the unpublished papers, 35mm slides, audiovisual materials, oral history transcripts, and photographs related primarily to traditional navigation on Satawal Island, Yap.
Steven DeMaggio collection
During the years of Hawaiʻi's AIDS crisis, Steven DeMaggio created several panels for the memorial NAMES Project AIDS Quilt honoring friends and acquaintances who had passed due to the disease. DeMaggio's collection contains clippings, medical literature, other documents, and photographs from this era of his life. Materials relate to AIDS, especially in Hawaiʻi; the Names Project AIDS Quilt in general; and several individual Quilt panels that DeMaggio created in particular.
